Fiction and nonfiction for all ages

Loak’s Tale is an adventure of Beatrice and Thomas, two modern middle-schoolers visiting Colonial Williamsburg who hear a story of a doctor’s daughter and an apprentice wheelwright forbidden by the doctor to see each other. This story, told by a very unusual narrator, portrays life in eighteenth-century Williamsburg as the two young people solve their problem and find a way to be together. Illustrated in full color by award winning watercolorist Lynn Hosegood, the characters are accurately depicted in period costumes.

The book is 40 pages with 9 captivating illustrations.
